About Jerz.tv
This is an experiment. A simple one, really. I like to take photos, and I like to make videos—all of which are likely simple, sometimes silly, but labors of love nonetheless. I also love my iPhone. In fact, I like playing around with the apps on it so much that I decided to dedicate a site to the production of photos and video that have been exclusively shot and edited on an iPhone. That’s all.
The only time the photos or video will even touch a computer is for the purpose of encoding, compressing and uploading (in the case of video). All photos will be shot with one of the many apps available to shoot and filter photos. If I want to edit later, I will do so on an app built for that. All video is shot with an app on the iPhone and edited using iMovie for the iPhone. I am not ruling out future projects edited on an iPad (I don’t have one at this time, but plan on having one soon), but no desktop or notebook computer will be used in the creation process.
I kind of love this experiment. It’s a way to show how much can be done without the need for a computer at all. The practical application for this, of course, is in the realm of journalism. As an instructor of multimedia at the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, I believe this to be one of the more useful things my students can learn while learning the technical aspects of their chosen subject.
